Quicksilva’s fully compliant Child Protection – Information Sharing (CP-IS) solution has been specifically designed for Primary Care General Practitioners (GPs) and can currently be offered to them free of charge.
Developed in collaboration with NHS England, this innovative service provides healthcare professionals with seamless access to the most up-to-date child protection data, enabling faster and more informed responses to children and young people under social care.
The Importance of CP-IS in Safeguarding Children

Quicksilva’s CP-IS service facilitates the secure exchange of vital information between health and social care professionals, improving coordination of care for children and young people who are either under social care or have a child protection plan in place.
The CP-IS service is comprehensive, covering 100% of local authorities across England. It is the only national register for social care status and the primary system for sharing information about children who are outside their usual care area. With this service, GPs can access a comprehensive, real-time view of relevant child protection information, enabling earlier intervention and more effective decision-making.
How Quicksilva’s Technology Supports Child Protection
At the heart of Quicksilva’s CP-IS service is the conneQt Toolbar, a streamlined, digital widget that integrates directly into the GP’s system. This tool is part of Quicksilva’s IM1 Integration Tool and allows seamless access to secondary systems. The conneQt Toolbar offers a single sign-on experience, enabling GPs to move fluidly between applications while maintaining patient context within systems like EMIS, TPP.
NHS Digital SCAL certified, the conneQt Toolbar ensures the smooth integration of real-time information from the NHS Spine directly into a GP’s daily workflow. The CP-IS application, accessible via the conneQt Toolbar, will automatically alert GPs if there is a child protection record present, ensuring that time-sensitive information is acted upon promptly.

In accordance with the NHS Long Term Plan pf March ‘24, which mandates CP-IS compliance, this service represents a significant step forward in the effort to safeguard vulnerable children.
